Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The first album she released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 titled Pho where she gained notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 when she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound along with her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. Then, later in the year, her music was circulating around Dreamville. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. She also appeared in two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. In November, she released her singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013, she released No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole in the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The song was followed by an accompanying music video that debuted that was released on February 20, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube within its first seven days. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
